Some background…
First off, we are NOT anti-gun or against the sport of Trap Shooting. However, we do think that it is a sport that belongs in an appropriate location. It should not impact the safety, quality of life, quality of drinking water, or cause environmental risks to the surrounding community. We started this initiative 4 years ago to curtail Waynesborough Country Club’s Trap Shooting Program on-site at the Club location at 440 Darby-Paoli Road in Paoli. Despite our efforts, we feel that our concerns have not been taken seriously and Club leadership continues to show a blatant disregard for the surrounding community. It is important for the membership and community at large to understand our concerns and consider their own homes and families and how they would expect an ethical organization to respond.
Please know from the start that we bear no ill will towards the membership at large and in fact consider many members to be dear friends. We are fully aware that decisions made by a select few, in the name of a membership that is largely uninformed of the situation, is in no way indicative of the minds and hearts of the many wonderful members of WCC who we call friends.
To explain the current situation, we must start by going backwards so that you may come to an informed opinion. Click below to view some history on the situation as well as our past correspondence with the club.
